Due to memory considerations the length of the PIN code is restricted to 8 characters. If you try to create a PIN

code that is larger than this, an error message is generated (as above) and you will be given another opportunity

to enter your own PIN

Once you have entered the PIN you want, you should complete your request by hitting the “ENTER” key,

whereupon the original menu is displayed, showing your new PIN selection.

If your BL-521 is to be configured into Client mode, this is the PIN that will be used by BL-521 to initiate pairing

with the remote device before any connection is made. If your remote device is another BL-521 in Server mode,

you will need to ensure that “both” devices are configured to use the same PIN number.

Unlike the communications settings, this Bluetooth setting is applied with immediate effect.

3.3.5. Partner Device

A partner device is a remote Bluetooth device to which you wish to bond to, or have bonded. As such, this setting

is ignored if BL-521 is configured to use Security Mode 1 (Lowest) as this setting is essentially “no security” and

does not require bonding.

Adding a partner device using this feature does not stop remote devices bonding with BL-521 whilst it is in Server

Mode. When Set to Client mode, BL-521 uses this Setting in order to connect to a remote device.
